Black figure style.

Style of Greek vase painting where the figures are painted in black on a red ground. It flourished from the late 7th to the late 6th c. BC;
it was superseded by the red figure style.


Theseus kills the Minotaur, tondo inside a lip cup by an unknown painter. Ca. 550/540 BC, now in the Louvre, Paris
